Yea, like that's going to happen (snort, chortle, laugh).

The last time M$ said this, they then worked the other end of the stick by threatening to sue open source authors left & right. Which is funny, since Winblows XP's TCP IP stack is basically "line for line" taken from Free BSD (an open source OS).... Which BTW, does violate BSD's open source GPL licensing.

Don't believe me, try doing a stack probe on both an fresh install of XP and then BSD on two identical machines. You'll see that they react to the probe in exactly the same way (including the timing), and have the exact same faults. NO other two OS's have EVER done that. The ONLY expanation, same exact code....
At this point, I think most of the IT industry treats anything M$ says or does with contempt, or at the very least highly suspect (other than M$ fanboys). I say, let M$ go the way of Ashton-Tate (remember Dbase-IV ?) along with their propritory non-interoperability crapware.
