Samsung is piling on the pressure in Q2 with a flood of investments—approximately $7 billion—and by migrating to advanced geometries to further reduce costs and proposing a 100-percent jump in DRAM bit shipment and 130 percent for NAND memory components.

So the end point is they are the only manufacuters of DRAMs in the world? This is a weird situation

Sounds like a brilliant strategy by samsung. Its hurting but it knows its competitors are hurting a lot more so kill them off completely. It can operate on slim proifts while its competitors make big losses. They have nowhere to go apart from abandon the market unless they have other divisions that can subsidise them and they fancy a fight. Its certainly not in the interest of the consumer if samsung succeed though.
