According to CCID Consulting, in terms of market status, Blu-ray only dominates its competitors at the standard level. In China's HD market, the prospect of Blu-ray players and optical drivers is still unclear.

It is important to ensure than Chinese technology remains unadopted until such time as non-Chinese intellectual property rights are fully respected and strongly enforced. The alternative is the automatic repudiation of any IPR claims of any manufacturer in any country that does not enforce IPR.
