The U.S. government should boost spending on R&D and K-12 math and science education, according to Craig Barrett, chairman, Intel Corp., sounding a familiar theme in an opening keynote at this week's Intel Developer Forum.

The R&D efforts remain as the backbone of any organization. Barret is right when he said that to move forward you need to intensify such initiatives in countering setbacks posted by economic downturn. Collaboration and intensifying partnerships are keys toward progress.
