AMD has officially launched Shanghai, its first 45nm processor server just days earlier than Intel's formal disclosure of its first 45nm server chips.

I found a few errors in the article. First off, the Nehalem is not Intel's first 45nm product. Their Harpertown/Wolfdale DP, based on the Intel Penryn core was the first 45nm processor for servers. You mentioned that the Dunnington Intel processor is a 65nm processor. It is also a 45nm processor. The high-k dielectric metal process used by Intel at the 45nm technology was used on Harpertown (Penryn core). The way you wrote that the Nehalem should leapfrog Shanghai with an integrated MCH, is somewhat misleading. The AMD Opteron product family launched with the memory controller integrated. The Intel Nehalem can not be compared, "apples to apples" to the AMD Shanghai as they both have integrated memory controller hubs now. The main difference is between the AMD Hypertransport 3.0 and the Inetl Quick Path technology.
