TI won the initial TTL market not by making the best parts (Sylvania SUHL did that) but by underpricing competitors by 5%. They are relentless about costs. It has finally come back to bite them. M. Simon

Many companies made the same mistake as TI did (laid off or fired many of their employees, many of which were "key" personnel) I recently ordered 10,000 RCA jacks from our normal Taiwan manufacturer, only to find out that lead times have grown from 10 ~ 14 days, to about 4 weeks.... They admitted that they have a backlog of work, because they haven't called back, or hired new, production staff since the 1Q of 09.
