What is the global impact of China's leadership in IC industry?

As China leads the global IC industry, Taiwan, Korea and Japan are also benefiting from this progress. In terms of venues for other opportunities, where do you think are these key players heading to? What possible contributions that they can still tap in the electronics industry?

Is China leading the IC industry???  are you referring to design or manufacturing???  China is not leading the IC industry.....  what gives you that percpetion?

India is indeed the global leader in IC design and embedded software development. But China is catching up with its advancement and aggressive capabilities.
Do you have the 2008 figures and rankings of the leading countries in IC industry? Please post.
