The news that Intel is closing its plant in the Philippines after 35 years of operations has certainly rocked the country's electronics sector. The Philippine government now fears more job shedding in the electronics sector will occur in the succeeding months as the economic meltdown continues to affect almost all industries.
Now we ask. What's next for the country's electronics sector? History has shown us that during tough times, the best of ideas surface. Will this downturn inspire the country's electronics sector to look inward and innovate? We would love to hear your thoughts.
